Over the coming 18 months, the aim of the Council of the European Union is to definitively overcome the economic and financial crisis, strengthen the EU’s ability to create new jobs and realise the potential of the digital environment, as well as to safeguard people’s fundamental rights and play an adequate role in a rapidly changing world:

Involvement. Strengthening of the information society and making use of the possibilities offered.

Growth. A more competitive EU as the basis for growth, enhancing the quality of life of people and contribution to the future development.

Sustainability. Strengthening the EU’s role on a global scale, developing an area of prosperity and security in the EU’s neighbourhood.

Building on the fundamental priorities, the Ministry of Education and Science of the Republic of Latvia has developed a chain of tasks within its fields of competence.
