Processing of personal data may be carried out at the Ministry of Education and Science (hereinafter – the MoES). Before submission of personal data, please read this declaration and accept (if applicable) processing of your personal data at the MoES.
Controller of personal data
The Controller of personal data is the Ministry of Education and Science of the Republic of Latvia, Reg.No.90000022399, Riga, Vaļņu Street 2, LV-1050.
Extent of data processing
The MoES undertakes to collect and store only such personal data, which is required for performing activities of the MoES. We will process personal data for the purpose of implementation of legal interests of the MoES, fulfilment of obligations under regulatory enactments, fulfilment of contractual liabilities, ensuring public information, as well as for other predefined purposes.
What is a cookie?
A cookie is a small text file, which is sent to your computer or mobile device during visiting the website and is saved on your computer or mobile device, when you open the website. During each subsequent visit of the website, cookies are sent back to the website of origin or any other website, which recognizes this particular cookie. The purpose of using “Google Analytics” cookies is improvement of quality of the website of the MoES and customization of the website contents for the needs of visitors. For fulfilment of this purpose, standard information on journal entries (connection time, duration, IP address) and anonymous information concerning your activities on the website is collected.
The information generated by these cookies on how you are using the website is sent to “Google” servers abroad (may not be located in Latvia or the European Union) and stored on these servers.

Personal data available for processing of information
While following the use of personal data, the MoES observes the requirements of regulatory enactments. You agree, that the following information, in electronic or printed format, will be acquired and used:
- Contact information – name, surname, address, phone number and e-mail address;
- Photos and videos, captured at the Ministry of Education and Science or during events, organised by the Ministry outside the Ministry premises;
- Security – video surveillance of the building is carried out for ensuring of security;
- Personal information – education, work experience, occupation, position, professional activity, political affiliation, interests, date of birth, age, gender and other identifying personal data;
- Survey results – electronic or printed survey, where you express your opinion about any topical subject.
E-application and survey
By filling in an e-application on the website www.izm.gov.lv, you allow the information recipient, the Ministry employee, to process the following data – name, surname, e-mail address, address of residence and the application text to be able to respond to your inquiry operatively and precisely.
By filling in an electronic or printed survey, you agree to give your opinion about the topical subject, and the given opinion will be used for making statistics on the particular subject.
