Latvia took over the Presidency of the Council of the European Union from Italy on 1 January 2015. The six months of leading the work of the Council were full of opportunities and challenges for the involved stakeholders.

As an institution responsible for five subordinate fields – education, research, youth, sport and space – the Ministry of Education and Science was managing one of the busiest Presidency-related event schedules, organizing and co-organizing all together three Ministerial Meetings of the Council of the EU and 43 Working Party Meetings of the Council of the EU in Brussels, 35 events in Riga, as well as representing the Latvian Presidency in other international events abroad.

Summarized in an infograph, the results are now available on our web site (.pdf).
